In an unexpected turn of events, it appears that the Los Angeles Lakers are actually beginning to become conscience of their current situation.

They know Kobe Bryant doesn’t have many years in the tank – one technically – and they didn’t want to part future assets for a potential “win-now” player. Which is actually smart. It’s probably the best move the Lakers have made since stealing Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Lakers might actually be preparing for the future. And that should be music to every Lakers’ fans ears. Especially considering the way their last few seasons have ended.
