NBA Draft Projection: Top-20

Utah’s Delon Wright isn’t your prototypical NBA draft prospect. He’s not a flashy freshman, or a second-year phenomenon. He’s your throwback junior-college transfer, 22-year old senior. Wright averages 14.7 points, 5.2 assists and 4.7 rebounds for the Utes — he’s the straw that stirs their offensive drink.

He has NBA size and the ability to score at will using pick-and-roll sets or taking his man off the dribble. His one downfall, perhaps, is the fact that he often is too unselfish, almost to a fault. Luckily, NBA teams love that trait in prospects. Although, it’s almost uncommon to see that from a college team’s best player.

Matchup: Wright has the tall task of facing off against a Duke team with multiple future NBAers on the roster. If you didn’t believe in Wright before, he’s going to have an opportunity to prove his worth against the likes of Tyus Jones and Justise Winslow. To say that he’ll be tested would be an understatement.
