Scott Brooks

Last Job: Head Coach, Oklahoma City Thunder

Every year the Oklahoma City Thunder had to overcome high — very high — expectations. For the most part, Scott Brooks did a good job of living up to them.

The times that they did fall short of that was partly — if not entirely — due to injuries. The last time the Oklahoma City Thunder were healthy for an entire season, it ended with them in the NBA Finals against LeBron James.

He might have gotten prematurely fired this past season and probably deserves another shot at a head coaching gig. Brooks and Anthony Davis could both grow up — one as a coach and a player, respectivly — as the Pelicans continue to grow as a franchise.

Brooks didn’t get a fair shake in OKC. Ironically, though, he could wind up in a better situation with the New Orleans Pelicans.

With the uncertainty that is Kevin Durant‘s and Russell Westbrook‘s futures, tell me that the Pelicans job isn’t a better place for an up-and-coming head coach.
