DeMarre Carroll, Toronto Raptors

Contract: 4-years, $60 million

Even though DeMarre Carroll was the Atlanta Hawks’ most consistent player throughout the playoffs last year, mostly because of injuries to their other key players, I would find it hard to bring myself to being OK with paying him $15 million per season.

Carroll isn’t particularly great at one thing on the offensive end, but is a bulldog on the other side of the basketball — I’ll give him that — and every successful basketball team needs one of those guys.

That said, I feel like the Raptors could’ve used this cap space on another quality big. Then again, Toronto could be planning on playing Carroll at the four anyways.

I love Carroll and everything that he brings to any basketball team. I don’t love this contract.

Verdict: Overpaid
