Reggie Jackson, Detroit Pistons

Contract: 5-years, $80 million

The Detroit Pistons are either going to look really smart in two years or really dumb. There’s no middle ground with these types of deals. The Pistons are betting that Jackson will develop and rid himself of some really bad habits.

Even though Jackson averaged 18 points, five rebounds and nine assists in his 27 games in a Detroit Pistons jersey, he was a 20-point, five-rebound and 10-assist guy in his last 12 games. Does that warrant a $16 million per season contract extension? I’m not sure.

I just hope Stan Van Gundy is.

Verdict: Overpaid
