The Player Who You Can’t Believe Played in College: Matt Stainbrook

Stainbrook, a former center for Xavier University, found his claim to fame after being discovered as a part-time Uber driver. At 6-foot-10 and 263 pounds, Stainbrook defies the typical body profile of an Uber driver, but he still works to help pay for his college tuition.

After averaging 12.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game last season, Stainbrook received an invitation to play in the summer league from both the Pacers and Warriors. While NBA players may not be intimidated by the combination of his rec specs and wild blonde hair, he still takes pride in his “DadBod.”

Stainbrook only played four minutes with the Pacers in the Orlando Summer League, where he scored three points and shot 100 percent from the field. With the Warriors, he’s averaging 3.5 points in 12 minutes per game.

Stainbrook is a role model for non-athetlic basketball fans around the country. He probably will not make an NBA roster, but he has a special place in the hearts of all summer league fans.

"My favorite holiday of the year! Happy Dad's Day everyone!"
