After a forgettable 12 months – in which they lost LeBron James and suffered an injury-plauged season that resulted in missing the playoffs for the first time since their 2008 season – the Heat look to put all that behind them. And it’s not like it could get any worse.
During the summer though, the Heat made some necessary adjustments to their roster. While adding the likes of Justise Winslow, Gerald Green and Amar’e Stoudemire to their bench will definitely give the team a necessary shot in the arm, perhaps the biggest thing the Heat accomplished this summer was get healthy.
Dwyane Wade had his first full summer off since that 2008 season, and looks as slim as he’s ever looked, and Chris Bosh appears to be fully recovered from a blood clot scare that he suffered in February.
Both, according to Eric Spoelstra, are healthy and won’t be managed under any restrictions when training camp opens next week.
"[via Sun-Sentinel]Spoelstra also offered an update on center Chris Bosh, who was lost at midseason with blood clots on his lung, but recently said he has been cleared for full work during camp.“We fully expect him to be healthy and cleared for contact in camp,” Spoelstra said. “He’s been reinvigorated. He’s had an opportunity to train.”Like Bosh, guard Dwyane Wade also has been working out recently at AmericanAirlines Arena. The question again will be whether Spoelstra will utilize Wade in measured minutes in order to maximize his availability.“Dwyane is coming into this season ready, for whatever challenges it brings,” Spoelstra said. “And I’m not coaching him with restrictions in mind. And we’ll adapt and be aware of anything that may come up as the season goes on.”"

On paper, the Miami Heat have one of the more talented rosters in the Eastern Conference. Though, and as will be the case for nearly every team in the NBA, this season is going to come down to health.
However, if Wade is as healthy and fresh as he’s looked all offseason – I may or may not have been stalking his social media accounts – the Heat are going to be one of the most interesting team’s to watch this season. If nothing else, just to keep an eye on.
