9. D’Angelo Russell

Preseason Stats: 5.3 points, 4.3 assists; 57% 3-pt

By merit alone, I just had to include D’Angelo Russell on this list. While we haven’t see Russell drop 10 or 20 points per game during preseason, like some of his counterparts on this list, we have seen some of his dynamic offensive ability through the five preseason games he’s played in – the exact reasons why the Lakers selected him ahead of Jahlil Okafor.

The Lakers might not be talented enough to see Russell’s real value shine as bright as it could this season, but his presence will be felt sooner or later.

Russell isn’t going to averaged 15 points and eight assists this season, but he will have a rookie season to remember. Even if it comes with a bit of a sluggish start.
