People will begin to jump off the Damian Lillard bandwagon
Life is going to come at Damian Lillard and Portland Trail Blazer fans awfully fast this season. After losing four of its five starters from a year ago (Wes Matthews, Nicolas Batum, LaMarcus Aldridge, Robin Lopez), all the pressure will now be on the shoulders of their young star.
It’s going to be interesting to see how reacts. Will Lillard continue to shoot at 37 percent clip from three-point range, as he’s done over the course of his career? He was kind of protected by defenses often focusing on Aldridge. He no longer has that luxury.
The Blazers will only go as far as Lillard can take him. In the process, he may lose some fair whether fans that were there when there were brighter days in Portland.
