5. LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers

Stats: 22 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 26.3 PER

Ah, old faithful.

Year after year, it’s a ritual to simply place LeBron James in the MVP discussion. However, for the first time in a long while, there’s a legitimate possibility that LeBron won’t finish in the top-4 in the MVP voting this season.

Especially if he continues to play a backseat role to Kevin Love (right now) and to Kyrie Irving (when he returns from injury). Though, I highly doubt that will be the case for an entire season. I don’t think The King will be able to help himself once the regular season stretch run begins.
