NBA MVP Rankings: The Rise Of Paul George

4 of 11

8. DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings

Stats: 28 points, 11 rebounds, 27.5 PER

Since calling a players-only meeting last week, the Sacramento Kings are 3-0. And Boogie Cousins is making an awfully loud statement in those games, averaging 36 points and 11 rebounds. He’s also a plus-10 when he’s on the court.

When Boogies is on top of his game – and the rest of the NBA’s – the Sacramento Kings are no longer the laughing stock of the league. If he can continue to be the best player on the court whenever he’s in the game, the Kings are going to have a shot to win every night – the supporting players on the roster are that talented.

If the Kings make the playoff this season, as outlandish as that may sound right now, Cousins should be a top-5 finisher (at least) in the MVP voting.
