3. Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers
Stats: 26.6 points, nine rebounds, 31 PER
The Los Angeles Clippers have lost four of their last six games, but Blake Griffin is still churning MVP-like performances. He’s transformed into the Clippers’ most important player and will ultimately be the reason why they make or don’t make an NBA Championship run.
Doc Rivers has said that this could be this core’s last run together and right now all the pressure is on Blake. DeAndre Jordan is what he is and Chris Paul is actually having a statistically down year. Griffin needed to step up this season, and he’s doing exactly that.
With all that said, if the Clippers are going to be better than last season, he’s going to have to, somehow, do more. If he can, he’s definitely an NBA MVP candidate.
