NBA: Comparing The League’s Stars To Characters From “The Wire”

Dwyane Wade, Prop Joe
Bringing It Together: Prop Joe was responsible for creating the Co-Op with Stringer Bell, quite similar to Dwyane Wade and Pat Riley creating the “Big 3” down in Miami by bringing in Lebron James and Chris Bosh during the crazy summer of 2010. It wasn’t easy and not even likely, but Wade had a huge hand in getting LeBron and Bosh to co-sign with this move. Egos had to be checked at the door, and they even took some pay cuts, but even with LeBron’s and Bosh’s sacrifices, I don’t think anyone was more selfless than Wade.
This was his town. This was his city. Miami was his. The fact that he just handed it over to LeBron as soon as he walked in the door says a lot about the type of person – and basketball player – he really is.
Think he could do it again next summer, as some rumors suggest? Though, it may take him taking a hefty pay cut. Either way, Wade deserves a ton of credit for what he did in 2010. Even if he doesn’t get Kevin Durant next summer.
