But I don’t think that we should discount the Pistons when it comes to potentially making the playoffs. They’ve proved through about a quarter of the season that they’re somewhat for real. And that is no longer a small sample size. They’re going to have a role in who makes the playoffs this season. They may not be battling for a top 4 seed in the conference, but they’re definitely going to be in the running for one of the bottom 3 seeds. And that’s OK.

Detroit Pistons (12-9)

After sputtering a bit, the Detroit Pistons strung together four-straight wins (Rockets, Suns, Bucks and Lakers). They’re now 12-9 and only 1.5 games behind the conference-leading Miami Heat. I know that’s a little getting ahead of one’s self, especially considering this roster compared to some of the other team’s rosters in the East.
