NBA MVP Power Rankings: We Should Be Paying Attention To Kevin Durant
5. Paul George
Stats: 27.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 26.1 PER
The Indiana Pacers are 12-8, still playing well and have taken almost every team in the Eastern Conference by surprise. They’ve certainly been one of the more pleasant surprises in the NBA this season, as well as the reemergence of Paul George, who missed last season after sustaining a gruesome leg injury last summer.
Much like Kevin Durant, not many knew what to expect from George this season. He has surpassed expectations to say the least. He’s on pace for a career year in scoring, rebounding, assists and shooting percentages.
And with George playing at such a high level, the Pacers actually look like a dangerous team again. Certainly a playoff team.
