5. Emmanuel Mudiay, Denver Nuggets
Stats: 11.0 points, 6.0 assists
Emmanuel Mudiay is not good at shooting. That has been established through the first quarter of the season. However, that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been one of the better rookies this season. Mudiay is averaging 11 points and six assists per game this season. In roughly 30 minutes per game, you can see why he leaves a lot to be desired.
With that said, he’s shown flashes of brilliance. The talent is definitely there. He just needs time to put it all together, as is the case for most rookies in the NBA. Mudiay is only shooting 31 percent from the field and an even worse 25 percent from three-point range, but shooting was never considered his strength. That shouldn’t be surprising.
Mudiay will have his ups and downs this season, but I’m guessing the Nuggets are willing to trade all that for the potential that he could become a future all-star.
