NBA: 10 Things We Know Through The First Quarter Of The 2015-16 Season
Kobe Bryant Will Be Missed
This kind of just dawned on me, but it’s going to be WEIRD once Kobe Bryant is no longer a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. He’s been the face of the Lakers for almost two decades, or at least the better-part of that timeframe. Kobe is also the last of a dying breed. He, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett are about the only active players still getting PT from that generation.
It’s going to be weird seeing any of those players hang it up, even more so for Kobe.
He’s been the butt of the joke many times through the last few seasons, but he’s still going to be missed when he’s gone. He was great for the Lakers, and the NBA. There won’t be another player like him – with the fire, competitiveness and effort that he played with on a night-to-night basis. Even though Father Time finally caught up with him, it’s good to remember his positive moments. That’s something that Father Time could never touch.
