Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry intends on playing through his ‘frustrating and annoying’ shin injury, which will take a month to heal
Over the past couple of weeks, Stephen Curry has missed two games and has left two other prematurely as he continues to battle through what he calls a “frustrating and annoying” shin injury.
While it’s something that won’t completely heal in the foreseeable future – doctors estimate that it should heel in 4 weeks – Curry continues to trot out and light up the stat sheets on a night to night basis – something that he intends on continually doing.
Curry says that he doesn’t plan on sitting out a month in order to let his shin injury heel, simply because the doctors have told him that he can’t make the injury worse. He just has to fight through the pain when it gets re-aggrevated, when it gets kicked or hit during the course of a game.

And he’s OK with doing that, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a hinderance.
"[via ESPN]“It’s just frustrating and annoying and any other adjective you want to throw in there,” Curry said after the Warriors beat the Lakers to improve to 33-2, the best 35-game start in NBA history. “Long-term, it’s not something that I’ll have to worry about. It’s just playing through an injury that’s there. It doesn’t get worse if I play on it, unless I get kicked, and that’s happened three times since I did it, so hopefully it won’t keep happening again.”…I’m not going to sit out four weeks, so just got to figure out how to protect it while I’m out on the floor and keep playing. We’ve done a good amount and just had a couple unlucky plays, and we’ll keep addressing it.”"
The Warriors 33-2 and still on pace to win the most games in NBA history, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to give Curry a few nights off in order to get right, even if he can’t make this injury worse.

For a player that has lower leg injuries before, ones that led to some question if he would ever make it in the NBA, Curry probably shouldn’t push his luck, especially for a team that won’t be judged by what they do during the regular season.
The Golden State Warriors have gotten off to a historic start to the season, and Curry has been a big part of their success. They kind of need him to be healthy when it matters most, even if it comes at the expense of some regular season games.
