Atlanta Hawks – LOSERS
Moves: Traded Shelvin Mack And Justin Holiday In Exchange For Kirk Hinrich
Ultimately, reports suggest that the Atlanta Hawks were never close to trading Al Horford or Jeff Teague. They simply were sniffing around to see what type of deals the would be offered. That’s why I consider them losers.
The decision NOT to break up their core will prove to be a mistake, beginning this summer. I predict that Horford will leave this summer and the Hawks won’t get much, if anything, in exchange. I mean, sure, a sign and trade is probably the most likely scenario but, even then, that’s usually pennies on the dollar.
The Hawks should’ve got what they could now for Horford. Even if it was half of what they felt his trade value was.

On the flipside, the Hawks should’ve also sold on Jeff Teague before his trade value falls even further. It’s time for them to hand over the reins to Dennis Schroder.
