Honorable Mentions

David Lee (Dallas Mavericks)

David Lee only gets an honorable mention because he’s already agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks after getting bought out by the Boston Celtics last week. Lee isn’t going to return to his former double-double self, but he could bring value to a team that could use that extra fire power off the bench. He isn’t a great defender but has shown the ability to score the basketball when give the opportunity.

Even if nothing else, Lee is a good player to roll the dice on. He was arguably also the best buyout option on the market.

Anderson Varejao (Golden State Warriors)

Like Lee, Anderson Varejao will sign with the Golden State Warriors. This move is strictly on insurance. With Andrew Bogut dealing with a sore Achilles and Festus Ezeli out indefinitely after knee surgery, the Warriors needed to address their frontline – and Jason Thompson wasn’t the answer (he was waived).

Varejao likely won’t see the floor much in Golden State, but if needed he’s a veteran presence that could help the Warriors is spot duty.
