John Wall says that he doesn’t want to waste another season. Unfortunately, that isn’t in his hands. For the most part, Wall has done all he can for the Wizards. And I’m not sure there’s any more he can do that can save the Wizards this season.
Three games under .500, the Wizards are in a really tough position. Not only do they have to win consistently, something that they haven’t done at all this season, from here on out, but they also have to jump the Pistons, Bulls and/or Hornets in the standings. While that isn’t unthinkable, it certainly won’t be easy with only 20-some odd games remaining in the regular season.
Washington is three games out of the 8th seed and is running out of time. Wall is 100 percent right. The Wizards can’t afford to waste another season. Not making the playoffs would mean doing just that.
