Why It Makes Sense

Let’s just assume that the Golden State Warriors repeat as NBA Champions this season. They’re certainly going to be the overwhelming favorites if these two teams meet again, so let’s just say chalk wins out in the NBA playoffs – again – this season.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

If the Cleveland Cavaliers fail to win another championship with this core, at what time does LeBron and company just blow it up and try a different combination of stars? LeBron isn’t a 20-something year old in his prime anymore. He simply can’t afford to throw seasons away, and if the Cavs fall short again this season that would be two years that LeBron has wasted.

LeBron won’t stand another season with Love and Kyrie if the Cavs fall short of winning the NBA Championship again. If/when the Cavs fall short of winning the 2016 Finals, there will be changes to make this summer. And, most likely, LeBron will call the shot on who that’s going to be.

And if the reported rift between LeBron and Kyrie is indeed real, it’s going to be him.
