Marvin Williams, Charlotte Hornets

Ah, there’s nothing like a contract year.

I’m not saying that’s the main reason why Marvin Williams is having a resurgence, but let’s just say that it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Charlotte Hornets.

Williams is averaging 11 points (his best since 2011-12), seven rebounds on 39 percent shooting from three-point range – both of which are career highs. Much like Crowder, who was mentioned earlier, Williams gives the Hornets flexibility that most teams covet.

In crunch time, when teams usually want to go small, Williams can play a myriad of positions for Charlotte. Which often creates a mismatch for him on the offensive end.

Williams may not have lived up to where he was picked in the 2005 NBA Draft (5th overall), but he’s created quite the niche this season for the Charlotte Hornets.
