Melo Trimble, Maryland

(12) South Dakota State vs Maryland (5) – Friday, 4:30 PM (ET)

Melo Trimble isn’t the most complete point guard prospect, but he has as much potential as the next guy. The biggest problem that Trimble hasn’t been able to overcome during his two years at Maryland has been the lack of consistency.

Trimble is as composed as they come and uses his body against bigger defenders as well as the next guy. Though his counting stats are down from last season, the extra year at Maryland shouldn’t hurt him in the long run.

The sophomore point guard averaged 14 points and five assists this season for the Terps. However, both his field goal and three-point percentages were down from last season, which will probably be the ultimate reason why he isn’t a top 20 pick in this year’s NBA Draft.
