Let’s just hope that The Mitten follows Gary Payton II to the NBA.

Even as the son of Hall of Famer Gary Payton, The Mitten has been somewhat overlooked this season. Payton II is averaging 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists and nearly three steals per game this season for the Beavers. Known for his defensive prowess, much like his father, Payton II has shown the ability to guard multiple positions in the NCAAs.

As long as he can translate that success to the NBA, he’ll have a spot on any team. Payton II still has much to master when it comes to his jump shot, but he has the tools to continue his recent growth at Oregon State.
