NBA: 10 Players That Have Had Disappointing 2015-16 Seasons

9 of 11

Wes Matthews

Stats: 12.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 38% FG, 35% 3PT

When Wes Matthews signed the 4-year, $70 million max contract this summer, many were left scratching their heads. Including some Dallas Mavericks fans, especially when you consider that he was coming off an Achilles injury.

This season, his points, rebounds, assists, field goal percentage and three-point percentage are all down from last season. Even though that’s the unfortunate impact of coming off an Achilles injury, Matthews has to be considered a disappointment all things considered.

The hope is that Matthews can bounce back next season, but if he can’t his contract will go down as one of the worst signings in Mavs free agent history. He can change the narrative next season, but Matthews has been a big disappointment this season.
