Angel Rodriguez
Point Guard, Miami
Rodriguez is another one of those players that may have earned a spot on an NBA roster this tournament. At just 5-foot-11, he’s very undersized. And Rodriguez turns the ball over way too frequently to be a reliable NBA point guard.

But he can score. And in this tournament, he scored a lot averaging nearly 20 points through three rounds of play. He shot 54 percent over three games, nailing 9-15 threes and carrying the Hurricanes down the stretch against Wichita State.
With more eyes on Miami, Rodriguez needed to show the basketball community that he has potential to be a Nate Robinson like player, a guy that give your starting point guard a break and score a couple buckets. Rodriguez did just that, meaning the 23-year-old senior should be selected in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft.
Where does he go?
He’ll be late pick but Rodriguez should hear his named called. The San Antonio Spurs have a knack for taking foreign-born players (Rodriguez is Puerto Rican) with a limited skill set and finding a place for them in their system. Maybe that’s a good home.

And remember, in 2011 the Sacramento Kings took an undersized point guard with the last pick in the draft. On Friday, you saw him drop 22 points in the second half against Golden State, handing the Warriors their first home loss in 54 games.
