Can The Spurs Legitimately Beat Golden State?
We’re all looking forward to this matchup, perhaps even more than a potential Cleveland Cavaliers – Golden State Warriors rematch in the NBA Finals. However, there’s no guarantee that we’ll even get to see it this season.
The two culprits that can spoil that party? The Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors and Spurs will likely face those two teams in the second round of the playoffs. Assuming that they overcome their upset bids, and the Spurs and Warriors indeed meet in the Conference Finals, can San Antonio beat Golden State?
I firmly believe that they can’t. But, if someone is going to knock the Warriors out of the playoffs, it’s going to be the Spurs. If these two teams do meet, it’s going to be must-see TV. Gregg Popovich HAS to have something up his sleeve heading into the postseason, something that he didn’t show in the team’s four regular season games.
Will it be good enough to beat the Warriors four out of seven times, though?
