7. Miami Heat (5-5)
The Miami Heat are in trouble. Things looked great after two games against the Toronto Raptors. They stole homecourt advantage and were in position to win Game 2. Unfortunately, now that Hassan Whiteside will likely miss the remainder of this series, things have dramatically changed.
Without Whiteside, I’m not sure if the Heat simply have enough to dethrone a Raptors team even without Jonas Valanciunas, who will miss the remainder of the series with an ankle injury.
In a season in which the Miami Heat adjusted to every circumstance they were dealt with – whether it be losing Chris Bosh, adding Joe Johnson mid-season or falling into a 3-2 series hold against the Charlotte Hornets – this one might be too much to overcome.
The Heat had a great season. The end may or may not be near.
