2016 NBA Draft: Ranking And Analyzing The Top 20 Prospects
11. Skal Labissiere, F, Kentucky
As he entered his Freshman year at Kentucky with massive expectations – and the unfair comparisons to Anthony Davis – it was no surprise when Skal Labissiere struggled throughout the season.
He struggled so much that he even lose his starting spot midway through the year. With all that said, I still believe that Labissiere is the kind of player that was always going to be a better pro than college player.
Either way, he’s one of those guys that’s either going to be a boom or bust prospect. With his athletic capabilities, even if he’s “just good” it won’t be looked back fondly. He needs to be better than “just good” even if that’s somewhat unfair.
And he has the potential to be that.
His offense is raw and probably needs a year or two to develop, but his ceiling is really high. In the right organization, he should be a really good player at the next level.
