NBA Rumors: Re-Ranking Kevin Durant’s 9 Best Potential Landing Spots

9. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers wouldn’t be the worst decision for Kevin Durant, but it wouldn’t be the best one either. They have young talent, draft picks and a ton of cap space but they’re also nowhere near close to contending for an NBA Championship.

Teaming up with D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and potential Brandon Ingram (or Ben Simmons) could pay dividends in the future for Durant, but not immediately. Considering that Durant is in the midst of his prime years in the NBA, I don’t think signing with the Lakers makes the most sense. Not right now, at least.

However, if Kevin Durant desires the need to play in a big market and under the brightest of lights, the Lakers provides that opportunity for him. I just can’t see this coming to fruition this summer.
