7. Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics seem to be everyone’s favorites for Kevin Durant, should he decide to head to the Eastern Conference, but I simply don’t see it. Is Durant really dying to play alongside Isaiah Thomas, who is another ball-dominant guard, and Avery Bradley?

I mean, I could be wrong but I just don’t see the pull from Boston.

It’s one thing if the Celtics were able to trade for a player like Jimmy Butler AND then sign Kevin Durant, but short of that unlikely scenario I just don’t see why they’d be so high on his list. In the end, though, the Celtics are still a threat to sign him. They’ll likely secure a meeting but don’t believe they have enough pieces in place to be on his short list.

Danny Ainge has a ton of assets, but they’re meaningless unless they’re cashed in. Right now, he simply hasn’t done that.
