NBA Draft 2016: Results And Pick-By-Pick Analysis

2. Los Angeles Lakers

Pick: Brandon Ingram, G/F, Duke

The Los Angeles Lakers had the easiest decision of the entire NBA Draft – they got to draft the “other” of Simmons or Ingram. And it’s not a bad consolation prize, either. Ingram is a long, skinny, offensively-gifted prospect that has all the makings of a potential future star.

If Ingram can continue to grow his game – and add a few pounds – there’s no question that he has the opportunity to be something really special in the NBA. Question is, will he make that leap?

Kevin Durant, who had a lot of the same “weaknesses” as Ingram, did. There’s no guarantee that Ingram will too, but he’s definitely worth the gamble. Heck, some even believe that he’s a little more NBA-ready than Simmons is at this point in their careers.
