6. New Orleans Pelicans

Pick: Buddy Hield, G, Oklahoma  

Known as almost strictly a shooter, Buddy Hield really is more than just a sharpshooter. He’s clearly the best shooter in this draft, and proved during his senior season at Oklahoma that he is a complete scorer.

He’s gotten better on the defensive end, but still has a ways to go. For the Pelicans, he’s exactly what the team needed. Perhaps more than anything, he’s a healthy body.

Is this finally Anthony Davis‘ sidekick that the Pelicans have been seeking for some time now? Perhaps. Hield may not be a starter from day 1, but he can help anchor a second unit. Depending on what happens with Eric Gordon this summer, Hield could have a huge hand in the Pelicans’ success this season.
