Philadelphia 76ers

Notable Additions: Gerald Henderson, Sergio Rodriguez, Jerryd Bayless

Free Agency Grade: C

The Philadelphia 76ers, unlike previous years, were at least active during the summer. That’s not something that could be said about this team in the previous two seasons. Nevertheless, I’m not sure I agree with the signings.

I understand the Jerryd Bayless one, especially as a stopgap at point guard for the team that just drafted Ben Simmons, who does most of his work as a point forward. I get it. Bayless is a point guard that can play off the ball.

Still, most of these signings feel hollow. I understand that the Sixers needed to get to the cap floor somehow, I just feel that they could’ve better used their cap space. On the flipside, it’s not like the Sixers were winning anything this year anyways.
