Atlanta Hawks

Notable Additions: Dwight Howard

Free Agency Grade: C

The Atlanta Hawks re-signed Kent Bazemore, traded away Jeff Teague and signed Dwight Howard – all moves that would’ve looked reasonable had they did one more thing. Unfortunately, they didn’t.

The Hawks would’ve came away nicely had they re-signed Al Horford. Now, however, none of the moves made this summer make any sense. I mean, sure, you want to keep Bazemore and continue to field a competitive team. I suppose signing Howard accomplishes that. Though, this team probably is slightly worse, if anything, than last year’s team. That can’t happen.

Atlanta either needed to make a power move, or take a step back. For a team that has been “close” for quite some time now, they never seem to make “THE” move to push them over the top.

The Hawks should’ve blown everything up as soon as they found out Horford wouldn’t be returning.
