The Boston Celtics didn’t come away with Kevin Durant, but the consolation prize of Al Horford isn’t the worst thing in the world. Even though the signing of Horford might not actually pay off until the next few summers – when he attracts a second star to Boston – the Celtics will certainly be better this season.

I’m not sure if they’ll be able to translate their regular season success to the playoffs, unlike last season, but they’re going to win a ton of games in the NBA’s first season.

The real question is to whether or not Danny Ainge is able to bring another star to play beside Horford this season. He’s been hinting at it for a few summers now; will he finally find the right deal?
