Hassan Whiteside, Miami Heat

Two years ago, Hassan Whiteside wasn’t even in the NBA. Today, he’s the proud owner of a max contract and the new face of the Miami Heat. With Dwyane Wade gone, there’s a ton of responsibility that will fall on the shoulders of Mr. Whiteside. Even more if Chris Bosh can’t make a completely recovery from his health issues.

Throughout his journey with the Heat – the past two seasons – Whiteside wasn’t necessarily asked to be THE guy. Whatever he offered to Miami in terms of production was gravy. It was the cherry on top.

Now, he is THE guy. At the very least, he’s one of them. Can he handle that role for the Heat this season? They’re going to need him to.
