Will Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green’s Summer apology tour continue through the USA Men’s Basketball Olympic run?
After reloading an already historic team by signing Kevin Durant this summer in free agency, the Golden State Warriors days in the spotlight was looking to shift more to the performance of the new trio in Klay Thompson, KD and Draymond Green playing in the Olympics.
In true Draymond Green fashion, however, that was not the case.
It has been an interesting summer for Draymond Green. Starting in the playoffs, he routinely had to apologize to fans, the league and at times the actual players for his stunts on the court.
Whether that was because of his shoving match with LeBron James in Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals, or the kick to the groin of Steven Adams in the Western Conference Finals, Green always seemed to find his name in the papers for the wrong reason.

In addition to this, earlier in July, Draymond agreed to a plea deal to avoid jail-time when he allegedly slapped a patron at a bar.
However, this time, Draymond Green is in conversations for something that far too many athletes, politicians and others are getting in trouble for; social media blunders.
Unfortunately for Draymond, he accidentally posted a picture of his privates to Snapchat. This blunder allowed his followers to see, screenshot and distribute the picture for a full 10 minutes before Draymond took it down.
Known for his intensity & desire for greatness, Draymond Green is an incredibly intelligent player both on and off the court. However, the recent string of mistakes and blunders have been accumulating faster than Warriors fans would like to see happen.
Given the severity and incredible pressure that the Golden State Warriors will be put under every single night this upcoming season, Draymond needs to ensure that he can limit issues like this from distracting from the ultimate goal of winning championships.
At the least, Draymond’s recent blunder can be overshadowed by the Olympics starting soon and with the ultimate goal here of getting a gold medal, Draymond can once again let his performance speak for his focus and dedication away from another scandal.
"“This is what I asked for, though,” Green said. “I asked to be in this position; I worked to be in this position, and it comes with the territory."
However, many are citing Draymond’s recent issues like those with James/Adams and the patron at the bar alongside this latest mistake is a sign of an immaturity that he needs to fixate and work on. The line being between an aggressive, passionate player and an arrogant one is a fine line to walk.

Draymond says, via ESPN:
"“I truly believe we all go through points in our life that help propel us to the next level. I’m at the stage right now where all this stuff will help propel me to the next level as a basketball player, but more importantly as a man. I don’t live my life with regrets. I apologize for the situation. It’s clearly not what I was trying to do. At the end of the day you have certain situations in your life that just help push you forward, and you have to use them the right way.”"
