Dallas Mavericks

Biggest Hole: Star Power

The Dallas Mavericks missed out on both Hassan Whiteside and Mike Conley this summer. They also didn’t even try to re-sign Chandler Parsons. Shame. In an attempt to save the offseason, though, Mark Cuban did manage to swing a trade for Andrew Bogut and signed Harrison Barnes away from the Golden State Warriors.

A solid consolation prize? Sure. But, the Mavs still don’t have that one star player that will help extend Dirk Nowitzki‘s career or give them any shot in the playoffs.

The hope is that Barnes eventually transforms into that player. Though, at least for this season, you simply can’t expect him to be that guy right away. And that’s what Dallas is going to miss most this season.
