Detroit Pistons

Biggest Hole: Calming Veteran Presence

When looking at their roster, the free agents they added this summer and the strides that they’ve made over the last two seasons (including their run to the playoffs), it’s difficult to knock the Pistons entering the 2016-17 this season.

Though, despite their deep roster, one criticism of Stan Van Gundy’s squad is that they’re relatively young. Even though they dipped their feet in the postseason waters last season, experience is still something that this team lacks.

The Pistons have one 30-year-old player on the roster. Everyone else is under 29. The lone player is Steve Blake. Nothing against Blake, but I don’t think he’s the type of veteran presence that you desire.

He’ll help, no question. He just isn’t the guy to solve the experience issue.
