Ricky Rubio, Minnesota Timberwolves

(Reportedly) Interested Teams: New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons

I’ve had my reservations on the thought of the Minnesota Timberwolves moving Ricky Rubio. However, this rumors really began gaining traction earlier this week. In fact, ESPN’s Marc Stein, on Zach Lowe’s podcast, went all the way to say that he believes that Rubio will be traded at the deadline.

Stein hinted that Rubio would be dealt to the New York Knicks or to another team, via a three-team deal, to make way for the Wolves landing Tom Thibodeau favorite Derrick Rose.

Yes, I know it doesn’t make much sense. This is more of a move to clear the way for Kris Dunn, Minnesota’s prized prospect, to start at the point guard position next season.

Prediction: Ricky Rubio gets traded to the New York Knicks for Derrick Rose and a future pick
