NBA: Breaking Down Every Eastern Conference Rookie, Team-By-Team
Washington Wizards
Daniel Ochefu, Sheldon McLellan, Tomas Satoransky
Daniel Ochefu has played sporadically throughout the season for the Wizards and it’s largely been in garbage time. In that time, his PER has been 1.5 and while 15 games is not a huge sample size, that’s not a great PER by any means, either.
Sheldon McLellan played more in December than any other month. However, when you have a shooting guard only averaging 2.5 points per game, chances are he won’t get too much playing time. He was mainly ineffective in the majority of the games he did play, which has only been 29 so far.

Tomas Satoransky has logged more games and minute than McLellan but as a shooting guard is also only averaging 2.6 points per game. With Beal at SG, too, he’s clearly handled the majority of the load. Both Satoransky and McLellan need to improve if the team wants to be able to play Beal a bit less without having to worry if their shooting guards can actually shoot.
