The Boston Celtics were up 2-0 heading into Washington, seemingly needing just one away win to lock up the series. After back-to-back losses, the C’s head back home in a 2-2 series tie
The Boston Celtics left TD Garden (after two games) with a 2-0 series lead over the Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Boston didn’t play exceptionally well in Games 1 or 2, but on the back of Isaiah Thomas’ electrifying play – which included a 53-point explosion in Game 2 – they earned both victories at home.
After those first two games – I don’t think anyone thought this was going to be a sweep, but I believe most thought Boston would take one game or at least play both games tight – the Celtics were in the driver seat.

In Game 3, the Celtics would receive a massive whooping of monstrous proportions and no one on the active roster played well. Marcus Smart would have eight turnovers, Terry Rozier would only score one bucket, and Isaiah Thomas would only go for 13. Horrible night for Boston, and one the whole team tried to put past them.
Well, Boston did put it past them.
They would come out strong in Game 4, and would fiddle with a 5-12-point lead for most of the first half, but entered halftime in a 48-48 tie, after John Wall shook off his poor (0-9) start.
After being up by as many as 12 points, Boston would surrender a 48-16 run, which included a 26-0 individual run, by the Wizards coming out of the half.
Unlike the first two games, Washington wouldn’t look back and held on to their 20-point lead for the rest of the game. The Wizards won Game 4 by 19.

Now, the Boston Celtics have a lot to worry about as they head back to the TD Garden. They need to figure out how to stop the scorching hot John Wall and Bradley Beal (who found his shot in Game 4), while resurrecting Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier.
Boston has a lot on their plate between now and tip-off of Game 5, where they will try to go up 3-2 on the series. Their prize? LeBron James in the Eastern Conference Finals.
