Vlade Divac convinced everyone that he was telling the truth.

Vlade, Vlade, Vlade. Oh, how we don’t miss you.

Divac has been less than exemplary as the Sacramento Kings general manager. He’s had a difficult time attempting to assemble a roster for the Kings. To add some perspective, his big free agency signing in the offseason was Arron Afflalo. The end-of-his-career 31-year-old Arron Afflalo was their big offseason signing. I hate to say it, but that’s absolutely pathetic.

That’s fine though because they have DeMarcus Cousins who can carry them to about 25 or 30 wins, right? Vlade convinced all of us that was the case.

Divac denied all rumors and reports of a Cousins trade for a solid two or three years. Not only did he deny the reports, but he relentlessly abnegated the notion that Cousins would be traded.

On February 7, Divac solidified his comments with Marc Stein, formerly of ESPN, about his decision to not trade Cousins before the February 23 trade deadline.

"“We’re not trading DeMarcus [and] we hope he’s here for a long time.”"

Cousins was in Sacramento for about 13 more days before he was traded to New Orleans for, wait for it, Buddy Hield, a top-three-protected first-round pick and a couple of other things.

Divac trolled Sacramento two times in one swift blow. The first, he traded away the cornerstone of their franchise after he swore on his life that he would do no such thing. The second, he traded a top 10 player in the league for a rookie and a first round pick. Buddy Hield was, for some reason, the deciding factor in the trade because the Kings owner, Vivek Ranadivé, thinks that Hield is the next Steph Curry.

Congratulations Divac, you are officially the troll master for the 2016-17 season. Do you want to know what your prize is? Hopefully a new job.
