As the Cleveland Cavaliers fall at the hands of arguably the best team ever assembled in NBA history, it’s time to stop blaming LeBron James

Are you that person that follows LeBron James wherever he goes? Did you spend seven years on the Cleveland bandwagon, then four years with the Heat before finally returning to Cleveland?

If so, I’m guessing that you’re not very disappointed right now. Sure, the Cleveland Cavaliers may have lost the NBA Finals in five games to the Golden State Warriors. But why do you care? After all, despite whatever is ailing the Cavs, James has taken his legacy to yet another level.

Just think about all the useless players taking up space on the Cavs’ roster right now –  Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, Deron Williams, just to name a few. Then, think about what 32-year-old James did with this roster.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

Look at him hardly taking a breather in NBA Finals. Look at him notching triple-doubles, doing every thing in his power to give his team a chance against an unstoppable machine. Do people really have the right to criticize this man in any way whatsoever?

Do we keep coming back to this debate for the sake of arguing and increasing ratings? Or are people just not that intelligent when it comes to this subject?

How can people criticize a man for choking late in the game when he has played almost every single minute of the game? Isn’t it shocking to even see James getting up and down the court after playing 45 minutes?

Then, there are those who criticize James for passing the ball late in the game to Kyle Korver, as he did in Game 3. Do people forget that Korver was acquired for this very situation? That was essentially Korver’s one job. He failed to do it. How can we  blame James for that?

We can pass James and put the blame on any other Cavalier, including the starting center who was getting out rebounded by Steph Curry in the first three games.

Even Kyrie Irving, as great as he played, took a terrible shot late in Game 3 and sealed the deal for the Warriors.

People also need to remember that James has carried this franchise again and again despite the number of unproven coaches that come his way. Remember that James never had a Popovich or a Phil Jackson in Cleveland.

To expect anything more from this man is ludicrous. But I guess we just need something to debate, so we will keep picking on James no matter what he does.

For you, the LeBron fanatic, there is no need to worry. Despite however many championships James wins, you can always be a proud disciple of King James.

When it’s all said and done, we will look back on the 2017 NBA Finals as one of James’ greatest performances.
