2017 NBA Draft: 10 things I think will happen on draft night
Harry Giles Goes In The Top 14
In somewhat a head-scratching decision, Harry Giles cancelled his workout with the Miami Heat last week. Unless he has huge reservations with being a member of the Heat – which I can’t see why he would, after all wouldn’t want to live on the Beach (?) – perhaps he has gotten wind that there’s a good chance that he could go before the Heat even go on the clock?
Either way, I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that Giles will go in the top 14. He’s reportedly looked really good in his team workouts. And when any player has the size, quickness and versatility that Giles presents, perhaps betting on the health of a 19-year-old athletic anomaly isn’t that much of a gamble.
The big problem with Giles is his knees – plural. Both of them. IF – and that’s one big “if” – he can stay healthy, Giles is probably a top 3 or 4 talent in this draft.
