2017 NBA Draft Big Board: Top 10 ceiling and floor rankings; Top 50 overall rankings
3. Jayson Tatum, F, Duke
Jayson Tatum is a professional scorer. He doesn’t have NBA three-point range yet, but he should be able to develop that based on his shooting stroke and solid mid-range game. Tatum’s biggest issue is his defensive abilities.
If he doesn’t improve as a defender, he’ll still be a valuable piece to a team. He might not be a starter, but he’ll be a great sixth man off the bench. Even if Tatum doesn’t improve, he could still be an average starter at small forward.
The NBA has a wing shortage, which is why Tatum is a hot commodity in this year’s draft.
4. Josh Hart, G, Villanova
Josh Hart is one of the safest players in the draft. He’s not an elite talent or athlete, but he’s the classic jack of all trades, master of none prospect. Hart won’t beat anyone with speed or quickness, but he’ll win with savvy, skills, and effort.
Hart is a good shooter, scorer, ball-handler, rebounder and defender. He doesn’t excel in any area, but his versatility is his greatest strength. He’ll be ready to contribute to a team right away.
