Teams will need to adjust to their style of play. Less iso ball, less post ups and more motion offense. Focusing on three pointers, and free throws.
Now teams will need to hire coaches who can install that system of offense. A coach who can get players to buy in and be unselfish is now a hot commodity. These coaches are rare in a league that fires tons of coaches every year. It is no doubt a player league, but now coaching is more important than ever.
Front offices need to evaluate coaches just as much as players. They need to ask themselves which coaches can keep up with Kerr in terms of adjustments.
Golden State is likely going to be the heavy favorite to win the NBA Championship for the next three years. In three years, they will have to decide whether to extend Klay Thompson or Draymond Green.
Then, the Warriors will be vulnerable and the landscape will change. In the meantime don’t expect other contenders to stay quiet. There will be huge moves this offseason; the rumors have already started. Other super teams will form and Golden State will get pushed.
