Random Prediction Of The Night

Saenz: Harry Giles gets taken in the lottery.

Macri: An hour into the draft, all the names on the “Best Available” ticker will be centers…and it’ll stay that way for hours. Every mock draft in existence has a majority of picks in the teens occupied by big men. The only problem is that the position is more devalued than ever. The Finals just showed us that a team’s defense is only as good as the speed and agility of it’s weakest defender.

Centers will still have a role, but if a team thinks that they’ve unearthed a player who has a prayer of being a legit 3 and D wing, they’ll go that route instead. As a result, bigs will have to wait a while to have their name called.

Nelson: Sacramento Kings fans will be left groaning.

McFee: Portland makes a major trade. I already touched on this a bit earlier, but you’re telling me that a team with 3 draft picks and (more) moveable contracts (than the NBA community thinks) isn’t going to make a few trades on draft night?

While my beloved Celtics are pegged as controlling the keys to the draft, if they trade the no. 1 and net Jimmy Butler what else is there for them to do besides drafting Josh Jackson? I think Portland makes a move to get into the top 10 or 5 and takes a chance on one of these prospects; or trades for a superstar or two.

Webb: Most trades in Draft day history.

Massara: Lavar Ball to wear a BBB three-piece suit and BBB cap.

Dyal: Miami trades for Melo

Wooden: The Spurs will make more noise than they’re accustomed to. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Spurs do some very un-Spursy maneuvering on draft night, making trades and/or taking flyers on risky players with upside.

Magdziarz: We will have the most trades ever in the history of the draft. Possibly two stars switching teams for draft picks. A lot of moving up to get players they like, and moving down for extra assets.

Chapman: Indiana Pacers take a chance on drafting Terrance Ferguson at 18.

Murray: A shocking trade will take place.

Pontin: OG Anunoby becomes a top-10 pick. He is everywhere on draft boards, but his can’t potential skyrockets him into one of the draft’s top selections.

Must Read: Final NBA Mock Draft

Jamieson: By the end of the night, the talk of the draft will be about how stupid Vlade Divac is. He continues to make a fool of himself as general manager of the Kings. There are rumors that he really likes De’Aaron Fox, and is willing to trade the 5th and 10th picks to get him. This wouldn’t shock me, and it would be hilariously stupid. Many agents don’t let their players work out with the Kings because of how poorly run they are. The Kings seem to be operating on a different wavelength than the rest of the league. I’m not sure who they’ll pick or where, but I’m sure it will make everyone who isn’t a Kings fan laugh.
